VinOserae is a special concentrate from red wine. It is rich in antioxidant polyphenols and t-resveratrol. 'Polyphenols' is a collective term for the so-called OPCs (oligomeric procyanidins), Anthocyanins and phenolic acids. Some scientists believe that the polyphenols from red wine explain the so-called "French Paradox. Despite the fact that people in France consume a lot of fat, proportionally fewer people die of cardiovascular diseases in France than in the other Western European countries. The relatively 'high' per capita consumption of red wine could be responsible for this.
An in vitro study at INSERM (Paris) showed that VinOserae® reduced the amount of the nitric oxide (NO) radical in human muscle cells by more than 250% after strenuous exercise. VinOserae® red wine polyphenols act positively on LDL cholesterol oxidation, blood pressure and blood clotting. They work 20x more powerfully than Vitamin E and spare the antioxidant vitamins-by-exertion (vitamins C and E) in our body.
The effectiveness of the antioxidant complex from grapes was demonstrated by a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition of November 2002.Subjects were given 10 ml of pure grape juice daily for two weeks. Another group received a high dose of vitamin E (400 iu) daily. A significant increase in antioxidant protection in serum and LDL cholesterol was found in both groups after two weeks. Moreover, in the group that had received grape juice, the concentration of oxidized protein in the blood had decreased, indicating that the grape extract is more potent than a high dose (40x the RDA* value) of vitamin E.
Born Energie Supergel contains 100 mg VinOserae® per sachet; this results in an intake of 300 mg with an average use of three sachets during exercise. In general, 100-300 mg per day of VinOserae® is considered an effective intake for antioxidant protection.
