If you are going to do a triathlon for the first time, it is wise not to immediately purchase a 800 euro wetsuit. Above all, choose a wetsuit that matches your ambitions, but immediately think about 3-4 years ahead (no matter how difficult this is).
Ask yourself: What distance do I want to do? How often do I want to go swimming in a wetsuit (open water)? What is important to me about a wetsuit: flexibility or warmth.
Of course, the purchase of a wetsuit also depends on your budget, but you should certainly remember that with wetsuits: Cheap is expensive.
Triathlon wetsuits generally have two styles: complete and sleeveless. Full wetsuits (with sleeves) are more expensive but the most aero and warmest option. When a professional triathlete is allowed to wear a wet suit in a race, he or she will more often choose to wear a full swim wet suit.
Sleeveless suits are another option. Swimmers who want more freedom of movement with their arms and shoulders can choose this model.
Every wet suit is better than no wet suit when you go swimming in open water. Especially if you do that at the start of the season when the water is much colder.
