Did you know that you can also see the minimum expiration date of the products. Is there nothing to it? Then the product can be kept for at least 2 months. A THT date does not say much in sports nutrition, because the effect, taste and composition of the product only changes very slowly. Often you can use it for months (and sometimes years) after the indicated THT date.

What is Maurten sports drink
Maurten sports drink is already used by great athletes and labeled as revolutionary. Top runners like Eliud Kipchoge, Wilson Kipsang and Dutch record holder Abdi Nageeye no longer drink anything else during training and races.

Maurten sports drink is based on a new method of encapsulating carbohydrates and electrolytes. In a conventional sports drink, the carbohydrate concentration must remain relatively low because a higher concentration slows gastric emptying.

A drink with a lot of sugar leads to gastrointestinal distress, while the sugar is also absorbed with a great delay, as it only happens in the small intestine. For this reason, the usual sports drinks are therefore isotonic; they do not cause stomach upset, but also provide only a modest amount of carbohydrates; in fact, too little to expect a real boost from them.

In Maurten products, the carbohydrates - per formula in varying concentrations and ratios of glucose, fructose and maltodextrin - are packaged in pH-sensitive biopolymers. These dissolve only at a certain acidity level.

In the acidic stomach, the carbohydrates remain packed, so normal gastric emptying is not disrupted. The drink is passed through like water, so to speak. Once in the small intestine, the pH rises, at which point the polymer buffers release their concentrated load of carbohydrates. The small intestine can then absorb them effortlessly.

The result is that with each sip, the athlete quickly circulates a relatively large amount of carbohydrate without causing gastrointestinal distress. If you organize your intake smartly, you can refuel extra, readily available, energy at the crucial moments during long endurance efforts.


Instructions
Mix the contents of one sachet with 500ml of water and mix until completely dissolved. Consume the Maurten drink mix 160 before, during and/or immediately after exercise.

Amount of energy
Studies have shown that the human body can absorb up to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour. One Maurten drinkmix 160 sachet mixed with 500ml of water contains 40 grams of carbohydrates that are completely absorbed in the small intestine.
