Yes we did it!
The morning of Alpe d'HuZes began early. At 4:00 a.m. we were at the start line. And only around 5.15 could we drive off. That meant going up in the dark. We were lucky to be able to use a tent belonging to friends close to the finish. Here we could fill our water bottles with sports drinks and stock up on energy bars. The climb took me around 1 hour and 20 minutes each time. In that time, I drank two half-liter water bottles of AthleteSportsWorld with sports drink empty and I ate one candy bar. Since I noticed during training that sugars alone don't do my stomach any good, I had a savory baguette for lunch. Although the day was all about climbing, the descent was especially grueling. Since my neck hernia, my right shoulder and neck quickly become stiff from exertion. This meant suffering up and down.ABOUT JOOST MEPPELINK:
