The Jaime Recipes: Lentil Soup Recipe - Sourdough Bread | Tasty and Easy!

Lentil Soup Recipe - Sourdough Bread | Tasty and Easy!

The best thing about autumn is that you can eat hot soup again. A warm lentil soup with red lentils as a main component. With a nutty flavor, good texture, they are multi-use. They are nutritious and satisfying and can contribute to weight loss -en preservation due to the high content of fiber and protein. They contain a large dose of slowly degradable carbohydrates and proteins. Adding only can lower one serving of lentils per day to your diet, LDL cholesterol levels can by 5%. Also lentils a good meat substitute because of their texture and high protein content. Lentils contain countless vitamins and minerals such as iron and folic acid. Did you know that sourdough bread contains less gluten and is therefore suitable if you are not so good at this?

Tip: This dish x4 and freeze the rest in portions

What do you need? (2 persons)

  • 200g red (split) lentils
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 large garlic clove, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2 large winter carrot, cubed
  • 2 large tomato, diced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 lemon
  • Large hand coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 large slices sourdough bread

How are you?

  1. Put a pan with 1.5 liters of boiling water and crumble here 1.5 cube vegetable broth.
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion shreds and cumin seeds and fry while stirring until the onions are soft. Then add the garlic, carrot, tomato, tomato paste and cook, stirring for a further 3 minutes.
  3. Add the red lentils and broth. Make sure it is fully submerged. 15 Let simmer on low heat. If it gets too thick? Then add some water to the desired thickness.
  4. The lentils are cooked piece now and you really do not need to mashing, unless you like a smooth soup. Stir well and season with salt and freshly ground pepper.
  5. Serve the soup in large bowls, garnish with coriander and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Give bread.
